Pre-Employment and Fit-for-Duty Testing* (WorkSTEPS® available at Windsor Clinic) - Pre-employment testing provides validated, job specific testing to ensure new employees are physically able to perform the essential functions of their jobs. The Fit-for Duty testing provides job specific testing for your employees who are returning to work following a medical leave or injury. The test is developed based on essential functions of the job. Since the majority of work injuries occur during the first year of employment, pre-employment testing is a worthwhile investment in reducing your workers compensation costs. *WorkSTEPS® licensed program available at Windsor Clinic
Job Analysis/Ergonomic Assessments for All Industries - This service is performed at the worksite to assess the ergonomics of any work environment – from desktop computer to manufacturing or any other industry. The goal is to educate workers on how to position their bodies for safety, and create a work environment that “fits” and supports the worker’s best positioning. This is often accomplished without the purchase of additional equipment. Creating a good “fit” between worker and work environment reduces the occurrence of repetitive strain and musculoskeletal injuries while improving overall productivity.
ADA Job Description Development - Most employers have basic job descriptions for each position within the company. However, a specialized format is required for ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) job descriptions in order to meet the ADA requirements for identifying the physical demands required for performing the Essential Functions. This requires assessing the demands of the job, measuring forces, and writing the job description with an approved ADA format.
Modified Duty Development – When an employee is injured, they are frequently released from the physician to resume work on ‘modified duty’. Worker’s compensation costs rise when the employer does not have modified duty for the injured worker. Research studies demonstrate a significant reduction in total injury costs when the employee is returned to work as soon as possible, even if that involves modified duty. Our professionals are trained at identifying safe modified duty options with tiers for various weight restrictions. The program will be developed and written within standardized ADA regulations.
Functional Capacity Evaluations* – Our Fort Collins and Windsor clinics provide Functional Capacity Evaluations (FCE’s). At our Fort Collins clinic we use a Matheson-based system and at the Windsor clinic we use the WorkSTEPS system. This evaluation is utilized to determine the functional abilities of the injured person. We assess lifting, pushing, pulling, positional tolerance, endurance, balance and various additional tasks. The test can be designed to simulate a specific job if we are provided with the essential functions of the job. Otherwise, the testing will address the specific injury and will identify the appropriate physical demand work category using the Department of Labor criteria.

Educational Services:
Job-Specific Injury Prevention Education – Education is critical to a safe work environment! Our education classes are designed to be specific to the demands of the jobs. This involves observing the work and developing an exercise and/or education class that addresses the risks employees encounter during their workday. The length of the class is flexible based on scheduling needs of the employer/supervisor. Written &/or audiovisual materials can be developed to be used for future training.
Interactive Safety Seminars for Workers, Supervisors, and ‘Safety-Trainers’ - Our safety seminars are designed to address a wide variety of safety issues. Each seminar is tailored to the needs of the audience. Training the trainer is an effective method of educating the work force and is logistically the best approach for many companies. Topics may include: conditioning for work, exercises for ‘micro-breaks’, body mechanics for safe job task performance, relaxation techniques for stress reduction and safety awareness.
