July, 2012 - Harmony Hand and Physical Therapy is excited to welcome Valerie Brown to our team as a therapy aide! Val graduated from the University of Colorado in 2012 with a BA in Integrative Physiology and a Certificate in Neuroscience. She has a passion for learning about the biomechanics of the human body and the positive effects of a holistic approach to health. Val plans on attending Physical Therapy school and is very excited for the opportunity to help out at Harmony Hand and PT! Val enjoys triathlons, yoga, and spending time in the mountains.

March 20, 2012 - Dona will present to the Colorado Bar Association for continuing education about recent research and best practices in FCE technology.

February 12, 2012 - Dona will participate in a roundtable discussion hosted by the Colorado Defense Lawyer’s Association regarding what makes an FCE “valid” and how newly-published research demonstrates the importance of objective, statistically-validated testing procedures. Other participants will include:  Gregory Cairns, Esq. – employment law attorney, and Dr. Lesnak – occupational medicine physician of Colorado Rehabilitation and Occupational Medicine.

April 2011 - Lorie Y. Barker completed her training as an Active Release Technique (ART®) provider for the upper extremity. As a certified provider for ART® she is qualified to treat a variety of upper extremity conditions using a hands-on treatment method to address soft tissue problems of the muscles, ligaments, fascia and nerves.  Lorie recently recertified in ART® in January 2012 to keep her skills and knowledge of ART® current in order to provide the best care to our patients.

January 2011 - Harmony Hand & Physical Therapy is excited to welcome Lorie Y. Barker, OTR/L to our team of experienced therapists.  She is returning to Fort Collins following a 14 year career as an Occupational Therapist/Hand Therapist with the United States Army. Since graduating from Colorado State University, Lorie has gained extensive experience in developing programs and providing hand therapy for a wide variety of diagnosis from over-use injuries to multiple trauma injuries. Lorie will be working in the Windsor and Fort Collins clinics.  Patients can make appointments with her by calling 970-204-4263 and stating which clinic is most convenient for you.  Referral sources may call Lorie at this number to get acquainted with her skills and/or request a meeting.
